Good Eats: Simple 5-Minute Trail Mix Recipe
Sometimes, I’m certain that I hike simply because it’s a good reason to eat trail mix. What’s not to love? Savory, salty, protein-packed nuts married with all manner of decadent chocolate, from chips and chunks to candy-coated morsels.
While this truly simple and ultimately delicious yet healthy trail mix recipe will certainly inspire many a hike, it also works perfectly well on road trips, as an office snack, or as a pick-me-up while doing errands.
5 Minute Trail Mix Recipe
Total time: 5 mins
Serves: 8
Trail Mix Recipe Ingredients
½ cup whole roasted, salted almonds (I used 50% less salt, dry roasted salted almonds)
½ cup whole roasted, salted cashews (I used roasted and salted cashews)
½ cup coconut flakes (I used 100% organic, unsweetened coconut flakes)
¼ – ½ cup chocolate chunks (I used Enjoy Life Semi-sweet Mega Chunks. You could sub chocolate chips.)
Trail Mix Recipe Instructions
Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix up until mixed well.
Store in airtight container. Can store in fridge or pantry.
Note: If serving at a gathering, avoid placing in direct sun as chocolate may melt.
