This mid-layer also slides seamlessly under a ski shell—it’s own shell is constructed of an ultra-lightweight, 15-denier, double-ripstop nylon. The exterior has a buttery-soft feel that glides easily between layers, plus the souble-ripstop construction lends durability to hold up to all-day alpine and backcountry adventures.
On the fit front, TREW cuts this mid-layer from a women’s-specific pattern. We love the attention to gear designed for the female form and TREW provides a form-fitting silhouette—plus ample room for movement in its Polar Shift design. We tested a size medium and while the fit was spot on throughout the body of the jacket, the Polar Shift’s waist runs a bit on the more snug side—a feature key for keeping the snow out of your ski pants—so we’d recommend sizing up if you desire more waist space.
