The Tops in Yoga Tanks
We’d like to think that it doesn’t matter what you wear to yoga class. It’s the thought—or lack thereof—that counts, right? But leave it to a shirt that’s riding up or chafing to really mess up your yoga zone.
So we jumped on the task of testing good-looking, movement-oriented tops. After trying a series of fresh yoga tanks for spring, these three came out on top.
REI Sariska Drape Neck Tunic Top (shown)
For those of us who don’t always feel like a Victoria’s Secret model—which is to say, all of us—there’s the Sariska Drape Neck Tunic Top ($49.50). Its cowl neck, long cut, and padded cups offer more coverage and a looser fit than typical tanks. Bonus: It can also pass for cocktails. (Seriously!) Best for: modest ladies.
Prana Sasha Top
The Sasha Top’s ($62) stretchy micro-polyester fabric is so ultra-soft we’d consider living in it. Slim shoulder straps keep out of the way, and the streamlined silhouette doesn’t ride up—even in the most precarious of headstands. Best for: the sensitive-skinned.
Patagonia Morning Glory Top
This nylon-spandex number ($55) wicks moisture and is smooth to the touch. The built-in bra is strong enough for small-chested women but can also be layered over a sports bra for more support. Its best feature: you can wear it straight to the bakery without looking like you stepped out of an ashram. Best for: multi-taskers.
