6 Minutes of Adventure: Road Bike Party 2

It’s winter, it’s icy, and bone-chilling temps have my bike pushed to the back of the garage. But, if you’re missing your spinning ride as much as I am, this newly released trials bike video will give you a happy fix. Created by (and starring) international mountain bike trials legend and ex-World Champion Martyn Ashton, Road Bike Party 2 is the sequel to the 2012 YouTube smash hit Road Bike Party (with over 9 million views).

Ashton’s follow-up flick is a must-watch, jaw-dropping array of trials feats—backwards nose wheelies down steep roads, spinning through giant cylinders, teetering on tree branches—pulled off on a road bike. Bonus: the music is happy and the setting is lush, green, and, well, not wintry.

The fact that this 6-minute video exists is a mere miracle—Ashton suffered an accident during a bicycle trials demo in early September at the Silverstone Moto GP in England. Sadly, this cycling rock star dislocated his T9 and T10 vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

Thanks to a few friends, including trials phenoms Danny MacAskill and Chris Akrigg who committed to helping Ashton and videographer Robin Kitchin complete the film, Road Bike Party 2 is ready to roll. Check it out here.
