Eye Candy: The White Rim

The 100-mile White Rim Road undulates—in spectacular fashion—up and down on the Island in the Sky in Utah’s red rock mecca, Canyonlands National Park.

Because overnight stays on the White Rim require permits that are hard to come by, many mountain bikers tackle this as a grueling one-day ride. But the permitting process is worth the wait as this 4WD road’s campsites are remote, pristine, and peaceful. Some of the more coveted camping spots include White Crack, Murphy Campsite, and Potato Bottom Canyon. Groups of bikers doing this route over two or more days often bring along one or two support vehicles to carry water, food, camping gear, and après-ride cocktails.

If you’re looking for things to add to your bucket list, this ride is a must-include.
